EGYPTIAN MAGIC- OpenSky or B-Glowing

Winter (dry skin) Blues: Egyptian Magic to the Rescue

November 7, 2013 by emily 26 Comments

So, my skin has just decided that it doesn’t want to be on my face anymore. Seriously.. its falling off to the point where I can’t even put any makeup on and I’ve been trying everything in my never ending drawer of products. I don’t know if it’s the heat in my house or what, but the other day I hit my limit and decided to do what every girl does when she has a problem. Pinterest.  (SIDENOTE: My mom and I have a deal that if something ever happens to me she’ll take my computer and destroy it. I suggest you do the same because as girls, we google some weird $&!*.. don’t act like you don’t!)

Anyway, I found an article where Lauren Conrad said she swore by Egyptian Magic for her dry skin and  I remebered being in a meeting with the girls at InStyle and every one of them said the exact same thing. So, I figured if Lauren Conrad AND the fabulous girls of my favorite magazine say it works, I need it too. It was a matter of seconds before I was on Amazon clicking express shipment. I can honestly say that the morning after I put it on I woke up to the my normal skin back! Not a speck of dry skin in sight! I wish I could tell you the magic ingredients and the science behind it, but if you haven’t been able to tell by now, I don’t really care as long as it works and this does.  If it’s good enough for Lauren Conrad, it’s good enough for me.

I’ve never tried this before but I’ve heard you can find it at Costco! Glad to hear it works – I have the worst winter dry skin so I’ll have to pick some up next time!

As a bee-keeper and beauty fanatic, I love my Egyptian Magic! That stuff seriously can work miracles and I tell everyone about it. Our winters are longgg and frigid here in MI and I need all the help I can get!

You should also try Josie Maran argon oil! I have acne prone, dry, sensitive skin and this stuff is amazing!! It never makes me break out and my skin is so soft every morning!

I haven’t seen that one. Another great one is Udder Cream. It is in tub with black cow spots on it. I swear by it!

Lauren Conrad is a genius when it comes to that stuff! I’ve read her beauty and style books embarrassingly more than once. Hmmm writing books about beauty and fashion ….I wonder who could sell a million copies of those? 😉 hint hint! Love you em! Thanks for sharing your tips.

Just wanted to give you all a little warning about making sure you don’t buy a fake when it comes to this product. Apparently there are a ton of companies that try to copy it every year and put a lot of funky ingredients in it that are NOT the same as the Egyptian Magic LC is talking about, so I would order it straight from their website. 🙂

    Hi Emily!
Is this only for use on your face or can you use it on other dry spots of your body?! Looks like something I need!

I have been having the same skin issues already as well! Blah, winter skin! I thought to myself yesterday that I wish you’d do a post on how you combat winter dry skin and here it is!! I saw the article on Lauren’s site but now that you both suggest it, I will have to try it! Love your site! Xo

You should google and learn about coconut oil. I do my regular beauty rotuine, but a few nights a week instead of face wash I use pure organic coconut oil. I use my fingers to rub it in real well and then rinse it in very warm water – it won’t rinse well in cool or lukewarm water. It hydrates naturally. It also removes your make up super well. I like to use it on a round cotton pad to remove my eyemake up chemically free. Sometimes if I see spots where I am a little dry I dab a little on and leave it on all night. I also use it to wash my entire my body a couple of times a week and it makes my skin so supple. I also have a 6 year old son with just a smidge of eczema and I rub a little into his dry skin before bed when he needs it. Seriously. Google it, it’s amazing for your skin, and it does NOT cause any breakouts.

Emily, sounds like a lot of chatter on google land about fake Eg.M. – does anyone know if buying from Costco would be the real deal or a “fake” product?? Thanks!

I ordered Egyptian Magic a couple weeks ago after reading this post. I’m taking antibiotics and using a topical ointment to clear up a case of perioral dermatitis and for the past two months, my skin has been painfully dry (like, can-hardly-smile-and-definitely-can’t-wear-makeup dry). I started using Egyptian Magic on my face every night and my skin looks and feels AMAZING after just one week. This product is totally worth every penny. Thank you for sharing, Emily!
