This isn’t the first time I’ve blogged about my Clarisonic, but my love for it runs so deep that I felt the need to sing my praises for it once again. Especially since winter makes my skin turn into something from Tales of the Crypt and this seems to be one of my few saving graces! Before I had one I just assumed it was yet another expensive thing that was being hyped up by people paid to say they like it, but after using it it for over a year I can say it totally lives up to its hype. And no, I’m not one of those people being paid to say I like it! Sometimes I’ll get lazy and will go a few days without using it and sure enough there’s a breakout on my face as a reminder.
So, whether it’s a gift to yourself or a friend, it will be the best money you’ve spent on your skin. Promise. They even make a men’s version! You can also get the body brush head to scrub off old spray tan.
Have you tried the Clarisonic? Please tell me I’m not alone in my obsession!
I LOVE my Clarisonic too! Like you Emily, I thought it was just an overpriced gadget and I didn’t really understand what it could do for me. Then about two and a half years ago, I bought one during Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. I cannot say enough how much I love it. Since then I have purchased one as a gift for my sister and three of my friends! They all love it just as much as I do. I use a lot of amazing and pricey skincare products and they work better now because of Clarisonic!
Are there different types of Clarisonics and if so which one do you recommend?
As an esthetician, I’ll admit I first tried it thinking what’s all the fuss about it? But after just one use my skin looked and felt better. I absolutely love it and sing its praises to every client and friend and family member. It really does do the job at removing the day from your face that your hands or a wash cloth just can’t do. 🙂
I completely agree Emily! I bought a Clarisonic Mia on your recommendation and I absolutely love it!! I am going to get my twin sister one as a present for her birthday!! It’s the best!! Thanks for always giving the best advice on products!!!
Emily-
Thanks for sharing! I was just at Macys last night talking to an employee about how great they are.. I’ve been thinking about asking for one for Christmas because I’ve heard such wonderful things! Which Clarisonic do you have or recommend?!
Thanks!
Jen
My skin has been bad for the last couple of years I got a microdermabrasion then started with a clairisonic right after and have cleared up tremendously! Love it!
I can’t afford the Clarisonic so I’ve been using the olay $30 version while I save up! This alone has made a huge difference in my skin. What I do think is amazing also are those Josie Maran products shown in the picture! They have made a dramatic improvement in my dryness and I even use the Josie Maran matchmaker argan foundation when I’m really dry! It makes your skin look amazing.
I LOVE my Clarisonic! Funny story, I accidentally left mine in a hotel room and had to buy a new one after my face started breaking out like crazy. I definitely noticed when I wasn’t using it.
I included the Clarisonic as one of my favorite things this year: http://detroitduchess.com/these-are-a-few-of-my-favorite-things
I love my Clarisonic! I used to have really, really dry skin but not anymore and it’s all thanks to the Clarisonic. It has helped my face SO much! I stopped using it for a little while as I tried Liz Pearle’s Cleanse and Polish and I could definitely tell the difference. My face was drier, duller and more sensitive. Totally worth the money!
Emily, I love my Clarisonic too! I have been using mine for about two years and cannot imagine not using one. I love the way my face feels afterwards. It would make a great Christmas gift for that someone special on your list-or just a well deserving gift for yourself.
You are not alone! I bought a Clarisonic this summer after reading your first blog about it. My family thinks I’m crazy for spending that much on a gadget to wash my face but I don’t care because my skin feels so smooth after every use and it really does help my acne medications absorb better!
I am dying to get a Clarisonic!! I use a washcloth in small circular motions for now, but it just isn’t the same. My face is dreadfully awful lately, especially during the cold winter season.
Hi Emily I love my Clarisonic! I bought one in March on your recommendation. I am hoping to avoid the dry flakey skin I usually get and so far so good! Best investment I have made for my skin this year. Love your blog by the way !!!!
I love mine! I saw it on QVC for months and wondered about it before I finally bought it. I too was hesitant about the cost, but I don’t regret it at all.
Love my Clarisonic! My sister made me try it and my skin had never been so smooth in my life…even after one use! It really helps to get all the makeup out of my pores and off my face at the end of the day. Expensive, but yes, completely worth it!
Emily, I bought my cute purple Clarisonic because of your recommendations and I absolutely love it!! Ever since I can’t tell you how many compliments I get on my skin! Except when I’m lazy and go a few days without it 🙁 but anyway I actually really was interested on which brush head you use? When I first bought mine I obviously used the one it came with the basic brush head. So it’s been 3 months and I just replaced the brush head to the deep pore cleaning one. It’s blue and white. I know there’s all different types so i was just curious on which you recommend? Since your skin is absolutely flawless! Thanks Em! Love ya!
It’s such a saving grace!! Love love love mine!! Best facial cleansing tool ever, hands down!
I think Juan Pablo is going to like Valerie, but choose Kat or Lacy.
I want to second your comments about the Clarisonic. I’ve used mine three years, and in the winter I make sure to add a hydrating cleanser as the brushes can dry your skin out.
What I was really wanting to write about, and Emily- I hope you really read these…. I saw you mentioned you put on eyelash extensions. I hope you plan on doing this temporarily, as they will (or could) ruin your natural lashes. I had mine on for a year, I live in Austin, Texas and I paid one of the top, trendy Salons to “maintenance” these lashes several times a month. I spent so much money each month but thought it was worth it (you WILL get compliments.) I had very expensive, featherweight “real” lashes precisely adhered to my own lash. I never had to wear mascara and recieved compliments every day. However, after 10-11 months they started to fall out more frequently (and of course they take your own natural lash with it.) A fill is supposed to last two weeks, sometimes a little more, and it was lasting about a week. To make a long story short, I started doing a lot of research and our own lashes are just not meant to hold anything on them for a long period of time. It wears them down. I read stories where very successful women lost most of their own lashes due to having the extensions on too long. I made the decision to take mine off, and paid to have them professionally removed. That took about 5 minutes as they just use an oil based remover. But there were not many “natural lashes left. For the next 6 months I had literally no lashes and it looked like I had a medical condition.
I had the extensions taken off in March, and it’s only been within the last month where I finally feel like I have normal lashes again. I will admit, I did buy Latisse, and used it every other day (due to itchy eyes) but it worked! I’ve stopped using it and still have long lashes. I will continue to just take extra vitamins (biotin and Omega 3’s) to keep my own lashes healthy. Anyway, my point is, you are a beautiful lady Emily- inside and out! The lashes are glamorous but I pray you won’t keep them on long term. They are very hard to clean (around the eye area at night) as you cannot use any oils based removers nor eye lotions/cream and it’s very hard to get all of your eye makeup off completely. Just be careful. And please keep us updated! I just don’t want you to have to deal with what did 🙂

Oh, and Cherry Pie. Do you like Cherry Pie?
So after seeing your recommendation I did some research and seriously love mine! I got the Mia and I’m obsessed. It’s a treat every time I use it. If my face doesn’t feel smooth then I immediately run to my Mia. It’s made my skin look much better. Thanks for recommending it!! Now I will have to try the WEN hair products 🙂

Emily, which clarisonic do you have?
I have had my clarisonic for 2+ years (Bday gift from sister) and I too believe it lives up to the hype— love it!!! It cleans my skin better than just a cleanser alone …I have dry skin and thought it would dry my skin up, but I follow up with Clarins Double Serum and Caudalie Vinosource Riche intense cream- makes my skin glow!
Em,
You’re killing me! I’m on blog withdrawal…as an avid follower, I get depressed checking your site daily to find nothing new! Come back soon 🙂 By the way, love your latest insta—so happy for you! Happy New Year!
Emily, which brush head do you use for your clarisonic?
I switch between Normal and Sensitive
I looooove my Clarisonic! Totally agree with you, I too thought it was an overpriced gadget….and I was wrong! My skin feels super healthy and much brighter! And Congrats on your engagement!!!
I use my Clairsonic with Philosophy microdermabrasion face wash…..its like a facial and leaves my skin shiny and clean after! The extra grit in the wash makes your skin feel amazing after and the wash is very gentle on every skin type.
I am totally with you on the Clarisonic. I has changed my skin like nothing else. I can use creams and oils and everything else to try and make my skin glow, but nothing compares. When I don’t use my Clarisonic I break out like crazy! So crazy how one machine can become such a holy grail item in our lives… Happy weekend Emily!

I’m a Mary Kay consultant and we just released our Skinvigorate brush which is exactly like the Clarisonic. Best thing is that ours is only $50!! All my customers that have purchased it absolutely love it. All who might be interested in learning more, just email me 🙂
Emily all I can say is.. THANK YOU. Had I not stumbled upon this in-depth review I probably would have never thought of purchasing my Clarisonic Aria. I have been following your blog for some time now and love your recommendations. I have been using my Clarisonic for about 2 weeks now and what a difference!!! I started out with multiple breakouts on my face, especially the chin area. Now, I have one small one that is close to being gone. My skin feels smoother, looks younger, and I feel more confident. Thank you SO much Emily for the product review!! 🙂
Emily,
Is it worth splurging on the Mia2 or Aria, or is the Mia enough? Thanks!
Emily,
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!! I just got the Clarisonic about 5 months ago… and I am in love. Wait no, I am obsessive! My husband is just as loyal to the Clarisonic as I am, and it makes me so proud! Our skin glows. Preach, Em!
Emily, I use and sell a product called NeriumAD and I tell my clients to use one before applying nerium. Nerium is a anti-aging cream that has been clinically proven to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration, uneven texture and lose skin. It was just featured on the shows the Doctors and the View. Justin Timberlakes mom even sells it! Crazy right! Check it out! http://www.theriggs.nerium.com!
I’m obsessed with mine. I promised myself when I turned 20 I would do everything possible to give myself perfect skin. It’s easier to prevent wrinkles than to hide them! 😉 So I was so happy when I received this pricey gift for Christmas. I use it 1-2 times a day. And if I slack off, my skin gets SO pissed off at me.
