Living in the South I have the “No White Before Memorial Day” ย rule engrained in my brain. Every fashion magazine says that rule is totally old school and no one should follow it, but for some crazy reason I just haven’t brought myself to dig out my white pants just yet. Well I’m ready to throw that rule out the window and this post is me standing in protest. I WANT WHITE AND I WANT IT NOW!
I also got ย to use one of my favorite pieces in my closet: the blazer. Every girl needs at least one in her closet and I swear it will pay for itself the amount you’ll wear it! I wear mine with skirts, shorts, jeans, dresses.. pretty much anything but a bathing suit. That might be weird.
If you follow me on Twitter/Instagram/Facebook you’ve seen me wear this necklace before. Its one of my favorites not only because its beautiful and goes with everything, but also because 100% of the proceeds go to Kase, the cutest little boy you’ve ever seen! Check out www.littlekaseman.net to learn more!
Cute outfit!!! Thanks for the inspiration! Smiles, Jill
I think the actual rule is “No White” before Easter. I’ve lived in the South all my life and my mother engrained that into my head from a very early age! I still to this day will not wear it before Easter or after Labor Day.
I & all my friends wear white any time of the year – no one really pays attention to that old Memorial Day rule. Or maybe that’s just where I’m from SoCal ๐
Love love the jewelry!
Love this outfit!! It’s adorable! ๐
This is why we love you Em! xx

I thought it was no white before Easter? I could NEVER wait until Memorial Day! I always want to wear white before Easter but a)I’m still so pale and b)I live in Charleston, SC… I feel like everyone is judging me! It’s probably just all in my head ๐
I hate that rule too! So dumb!
You look so cute Emily! Love the lace skirt!

Isn’t just no white after Labor Day the “rule”?
I love how light and neutral this outfit is! Very girly too which is right up my ally!
I also find it difficult to break the white rule – but it is an old rule and I totally don’t mind it when other do! Maybe one day…

I too have the no white before Memorial day mentality but getting better each year. I have 3 white dresses and a pair of shorts planned for an upcoming trip. Them again, I guess you have to throw out all rules for the beach. ๐

You have perfected just about everything that a woman possibly can from your choice of words, in your appearance, as a mommy, to being a friend to many. Your “evolved” character, if I may use that word, is quite positively developed and your parents are no doubt very happy with your outcomes. If you don’t or haven’t already, take a moment to review Bill O’Reilly’s “The Factor” and Mark Cuban’s twitter retweets. Carefully note how they respond to criticisms (not necessarily their topics discussed) and their allowance of audiences to tell a story or give opinions whether positive or negative. Sometimes they don’t even respond, but at least they let others speak and often let others embarrass themselves. It’s what makes them successful, real and human. It’s how quality research works too. If a company is paying for the research of its own products, whether the product be health care results, or toys, or diapers and puts that information out to the public, but does not include the negative, the information becomes undermineable and questionable, because the company likely didn’t include all user responses. I’m pretty sure you get this, you’re very bright. Love you.
Hi Emily. You are like cake, and frosting with a cherry on top to me. Thank you for recognizing me. X
Love it Emily! When I watched the Bachelorette I always admired your fashion and now that you have a blog, I am so excited to see your posts.
If you get a sec, please check out my latest post. I would love to read your feedback.

I’m from California, but my mom’s side is from the South. I always heard no white before Easter. โ
So dig out your white pants, shoes, everything. ๐
OOPS,
I forgot to add after “No white before Easter OR after Labor Day” ๐ I will always follow that rule. I just can’t bring myself to break it. ๐
Hi Emily,
I have been following you since you were on the first bachelor and I have always thought you had the best fashion, style and looks out of any girl ever on the bachelor. I have to say though you look a lot skinnier now then you did on TV and I thought you looked perfect on TV. I worry about little girls seeing how thin you are, especially your legs and trying to obtain that weight. I know as a skinny girl myself, with good gene’s that to keep your legs that skinny, takes a very strict diet and really not eating much. I just worry having a daughter that admires you as much as I do, that you are trying so hard to stay up to date with the celebrity trends(the huge inner thigh gap) that so many teens are obsessed with right now. I’ve looked at pics of you from years ago and you were just as beautiful and still super skinny, but not as boney, thin and I wonder if your last break up had anything to do with it. I just want you to know you are absolutely gorgeous no matter what size and you have thousands of little girls that want to be just like you. I think it would be wonderful for you to make a post about diet and maintaining a healthy weight so young women don’t get discouraged by comparing themselves to you. I hope this doesn’t come off as judgmental. I absolutely love you and thank you for being such a wonderful role model to so many young girls out there!:) Love, Olivia
