A lot of people have asked me what I use to curl my hair, and to be honest it changes almost daily. Β Some days I use my curling wand, some days I just use a giant curling iron to bend the ends under, and some times I don’t use anything and just tell everyone I just left the gym.
However, more often than not I use my 1.25 inch 3 Day Bender Curling Iron from The Dry Bar because it’s the quickest and easiest! As much as I love the look of the wand, I still haven’t 100% mastered the art of not giving myself 3rd degree burns while doing it. So, I’ve found that the Dry Bar curling iron is the next best thing! It’s different from normal curling irons in that the barrel spins as you twist it. Also, the clamp isn’t as tight, which for me, makes more of the wave I want rather than a curl. It takes a minute to get used to it, but it has made curling my hair so much easier! When I want a really soft wave I just leave out the bottom 2 inches from the curling iron and then brush it all out when I’m done. Yes, I said BRUSH IT OUT. That part still makes me so nervous because I feel like I’m ruining all of my hard work but unless you want to look like your going to prom, DO IT! I use a wide tooth comb just to loosen and separate the curls.
I’m going to do a video showing you how I do it soon!
Do you have a secret tool or product that makes curling your hair easier? Let me know in the comments!
Never heard of this but sounds like it’s so simple to use!

Awesome! Can’t wait for the video!
I really need to try the dry bar iron! Sounds amazing! Also, you guys need to sign up for the fancy Ashley blog give away! She also has super cute stuff and ideas!
I use my flat iron to curl my hair (I watched a youtube video to learn how) and it works perfectly! For some reason, my hair doesn’t hold curl using the wand or regular curling iron. I also do the dreaded BRUSH IT OUT
I love my wand and use it daily, but yes you’re right I have to be careful as to not burn myself each and every time! This curling iron looks like it might be a winner – ill check it out!
Thanks for sharing!

Would love to try this. Especially if it makes my hair look like yours. Its alittle steep in price, has anyone tried the Smart Heat by Mega Hot Nano Ceramic Curling Iron ? I saw somewhere online that this is comparable and its only $25?
I use my ghd flat iron to curl my hair. Nothing compares! It’s the only thing that will curl my daughter’s long heavy hair and hold the curl! It’s pricey, yes, but I’ve used mine every day for the past 8 years and it’s still going;)
Oh man this takes me back to my cosmetology school days! It’s hard to get use to not doing your hair with a clamp. It’s gonna take some practice but once you’ve got it down you get amazing results. And when I thought I would never need that skill after school, they have a tool that works and not from the 80s haha. But yes the wand is wonderful but I still get the third degree burns and it’s awful. The mitt is a joke too I think. Plus the tips of my hair are never really fully curled. I may just have to give this a try. And yes do exactly what emily said, really brush it out. Looks funny at first but it’ll set and then run your fingers trough it with some hair spray and your good π thanks em! Love your posts!
Oh emily I forgot to ask and I’m dying to know I’m not sure if you tell people but what brand of Velcro rollers do you use? I have been try to figure it out for so long but I figure why not ask! Thanks! Love you!
Do you use hairspray? What kind and when do you spray if so?
I love Elnet, Oribe, and Aveda hairspray!
Rotating my ghd straightening iron really does the trick. That way it takes out all the frizz in my hair at the same time π
I burn myself too every time I use the wand! I may have to give this one a try! Thanks!

I bought the Sultra wand after I heard you used it so now I am going to have to check this one out, too! Can’t wait for the video because curling irons with clips have always been a struggle for me haha. And brushing it out really is the scariest part!!
I really want to give this a try!

I use the Nume curling wand (highly recommend it). It comes with a glove that saves my hands when I try to wrap the ends of my hair :).
YES VIDEO!!!
I’m seriously considering buying one of these! Please post your video soon because it would be great to have some tips for using it! Thanks! π
It’s been many months…where is the video? I don’t have confidence in myself investing in this without seeing a tutorial first! Please? π
I just received this for chriStmas and i cannot figure it out. My hair slips out of it and the clamp leaves huge kink marks and no CuRl. Any suggestions?? Im about To return it.
