I’ll admit it, I’m not a “sporty” girl. Shocking, right? Not loving football has never been a problem before in my life, until I got married. In his family, football is not just a sport, it’s a lifestyle. He’s one of four giant boys (all single, ladies!) and they all play and even though I may not ever LOVE football, I’m at least learning to somewhat understand it. This past weekend we went to New Orleans to see his brother, Austin, play against some team that I don’t remember and after a very intense game (based on everyone else’s reactions.. my face was stuffed in a plate of nachos the whole time) the Saints won!
But if you’ve come to my blog, chances are you’re not looking for the play-by-play recap so I’ll get to the important stuff: what I wore. Duh. I’ve never worn a jersey before and can maybe even remember a time I made fun of people who wore jerseys. If that was you, I’m truly sorry because now, I’m one of “those” people. When your brother-in-law is playing for the Saints I feel like it’s your duty to wear his jersey but how in the world do you make that look cute? There’s no way I was going to wear a pair of dad jeans and New Balance sneakers like every other guy in the Super Dome, so I paired mine with my favorite pair of leather leggings, a statement necklace from BaubleBar, and wedge boots. Equal parts sass and family pride, right?
PS– How cute is my mother-in-law????
Emily
I am so not a jersey type of girl either. This struck me funny — Many people probably won’t even comment on Tyler’s outfit but hey, I gotta give it to him! He wore something I would have worn (long sleeve t or t shirt, skinny jeans and the team hat). Of course, you made the jersey look perfect.. like always, girl you got it going on! Saints colors are easy though! That is a plus 😉
Hope all is well, always look forward to your posts 🙂
xoxo
Well Emily there´s always a first time for everything. And you sure look happy.
Enjoy your life!

So cute! Your BIL is gorgeous!!!! Maybe your next gig is matchmaker…
LOVED watching Austin play for the Vols! Happy to see how far he’s come. Congratulations!
What a coincidence – I’m obsessed with football AND I’m single… Where do I find these boys?
Emily,
What is the exact lip color you wore? It’s pretty…When I click on the link it just brings up the full range of lip colors in that product line though 🙁
It’s called Succulent pomegranate
Girl, you wore a football jersey and blinged it out and “Emily-ized” it. You looked adorable.
Now, let’s get back to these single brothers-in-law….. you know now that you are married you have a responsibility to the rest of us who aren’t married. 🙂
Welcome to the WHODAT NATION!! Hope you had fun in my hometown.
Emily, I woke up early this morning and did something I hardly ever do – turn on the tv. On the picture was a likeness of you, in the form of a puppet. I was surprised. Moments later, I was surprised by the actions of your likeness. I don’t think I would want a likeness of me being shown on tv like that and I wonder if you can even do anything about it? The show was “Team America: World Peace”. I hope everything else with you is well. Eat some wings next time.
Hahah Emily, you are so cute! I can totally relate to the jersey thing! I have never been into them, but you rocked it! Lots of love! xo
